Terry is the son of Sister Clara Ruth Page, out of Dillon and Floydale, South Carolina. And mentored by Jessie Bell Davis.


Terry Fonya has a passion for work with the Youth of the World. Having worked with children in Atlanta Georgia to bring about a youth program on the radio he also anticipates similar success working with New Zealand youth to get them motivated and focussed on a positive outlook.

In addition he is gaining insight into the energy and rhythms of the haka through the excitement provided by youth in cultural exhibitions. It was easy for him to relate due to growing up in Dillon South Carolina where the Dillon High School Wildcats Football team did a similar thing.

Since being in New Zealand Terry has found a way to work in with the community in some form, whether it be becoming a St John's Volunteer or completing the induction programme for the New Zealand Fire Service to be a Qualified Firefighter.
